FY 18 Budget • FY 18 Budget- $34,185,703 • $1,321,986 additional cost- increase in non-certified health insurance, Teacher Retirement System increase and restoration of final 2 furlough days; • Approximate House Bill 857 cost- $245,126 • Salaries and benefits comprise 89.59% of the General Fund budget

  10. FY 19 Budget • FY 19 budget must account for increases in the following; • Projected increase in non-certificated health insurance- $126,266 • Projected increase in Teacher Retirement System increase from 16.81 to 20.90- $857,966 • Projected total increases- $984,232

SPLOST VI Thomson High School • New Roof • New HVAC • Secured vestibule • New security camera system • New fire alarm system • Replacing 28-year-old carpet • New ceiling grids and lights • Auditorium renovations- new control room, flooring, theatrical lighting, and painting • Repainting the main gym • AC added to the auxiliary gym • Refurbishing gas hook-ups in 3 chemistry labs

GOSA Early Language and Literacy Mini-Grant • $20,000 Early Language & Literacy Mini-Grant to implement the Beyond the Book Project • Monthly workshops to build the capacity of families to support their children’s literacy development at home- Topics include reading to babies, letter-sound recognition, producing rhyming words, developing vocabulary, connecting prior experiences to stories, determining main idea, and using supporting details to develop comprehension.  • Family workshops will also focus on the transition to pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, and upper elementary school. During each session, families will be provided age-appropriate materials, books, and/or tip sheets that can be used at home with children to support literacy and language development.
