  3. Reminder: ALL CLASSES COUNT FOR CLASS RANK & HONOR ROLL!!!

  4. Reminder: • Four Math credits required for any student earning a 76 or below in a math class • All Math course selections are reviewed and will be changed if needed! • You must take a math Junior Year!

  5. Math Update: • New Sequence: Algebra I Geometry/Honors Geometry Algebra II/Honors Algebra II Trig-Pre Calc/Honors or Advanced Topics in Math Calculus/A.P.Calculus

  6. New for 2009-2010 • Advanced Placement courses with a 1.25 multiplier may be considered “Advanced” courses with a 1.1 multiplier • Advanced Placement/Honors courses now require Proficiency on the PSSA’s • 11th graders are required to take either Chemistry, Applied Chemistry or Honors Chemistry • Application required for Career/Tech programs

  7. New Course Offerings • Art Introduction to Studio Art Computer Art and Graphic Design Advanced Ceramics and Sculpture • Music Instrumental Instruction Jazz Improvisation • Protective Services Program Protective Services Core

  8. New for 9th Grade • All 9th graders will be required to take a .5 credit of Physical Science • Required .5 credit of Tutorial each semester • Waiver must be signed by parent to opt out of Tutorial (examples: Band/chorus, ROTC, & Foreign Language)

  9. What You Will Take • English I 1 credit • Earth/Space Science 1 credit • Physical Science .5 credit • World Cultures 1 credit • Math (to be determined) 1 credit • Computers/Career 1 credit • Wellness II .5 credit • Tutorial 1 credit • Elective 1 credit 8 credits total

  10. Reminder: SYSTEM WILL BE BUILT ON “SUCCESS”, NOT FAILURE…. • You Cannot Drop Classes MID-SEMESTER • NO 2ND SEMESTER SCHEDULE CHANGES • You cannot change/drop a class if you fail the course

  11. Reminder: • Students with IEP’s or GIEP’s must have their course requests approved by their IEP/GIEP teacher. • YOU MUST HAVE A PARENT SIGNATURE IN ORDER TO ENTER YOUR COURSE REQUESTS…. Failure to do so means loss of elective
