  1. Resume Presentation Jeffrey C. Leo

  2. Hello my name is Jeff Leo, welcome to my career overview presentation! My objective is for you to find this format more informative compared to a typical Word chronology based resume. Anyone can create a bullet list, but it takes talent, creativity and skill to come up with a storyboard that turns boring, bland data into exciting and thought provoking content! Since this is a resume at heart you will find the traditional cast of characters including education, skills, work and personal history sections alongside contemporary topics of technology, philosophy, industries, core competencies and career interests. I like this approach as it portrays broader and deeper examples of my communication, interpersonal and transferable hard skills more effectively than a traditional resume. Naturally my end-goal is to meet and spark up a dialog in person, so perhaps this method and material will convince you that I’m worthy of your time! Personal Statement

  4. I’m a strong advocate of academia – I fully understand the value, sacrifices and benefits associated with advanced education. That said, I’ll admit to following a non-traditional path to reach my educational goals. Fresh out of High School I chose earning over learning. In my early 20’s I found my career growth inhibited by lack of academic credentials. This motivated me to fund and complete a two-year degree program which proved beneficial to my personal and professional growth. In 2008 I resumed education for an advanced degree to mutually satisfy my personal and career growth needs once again. I’m within eight classes of completing a Masters degree in business from the University of Phoenix, my goal is to finish in December 2010. Admittedly, I’ve become a lifelong learner! Education • Graduate 1988 – Santa Fe Community College Gainesville Florida – Associates of Science. • Presently Attending – University of Phoenix Online Masters of Business program – graduation goal December 2010. 5. I’m a member of Generation X – the “technology generation”. • In the professional sense, I’ve come of age in the age of information. During the course of my career I’ve adjusted my technical skills to accommodate four shifting computing paradigms; centralized mainframe, distributed desktop PC, client server/workstations and currently, cloud computing. Somewhere along the way I lost my pocket protector, migrating from programming and administrating computers to wearing a suit and teaching businesses to use technology as the differentiating productivity tool. • But if this statement is too generalized, let me put it another way. I quickly become highly proficient or expert at every software application and hardware installation I come in contact with and use on a daily basis.I’m undaunted by new platforms, in fact, from my perspective the two main perks in the technology field are 1) constant change and 2) opportunity to try new gadgets and tools! Technology Back to Topics “Technology does not drive change, it enables change”

  6. Skills • Personal skills…communication skills…technical skills...interpersonal skills…foundation skills…transferable skills…let’s face it, everything we do in life requires some skill or another and more often than not, a combination of skill types. • In the workplace skills enable us to guide projects to completion, meet a sales quota or manage a workforce. A limited number of my skills are listed in the cloud above but keep in mind that I‘m in skill- acquisition-mode! Back to Topics “Skills equal opportunities…”

  7. I’ve always been a cup-half-full person – I lean towards optimism.  The mantras “do unto others”, “do the right thing” and “do it right the first time” have been ingrained into my physiology since I was a child. I adhere to a philosophy of fairness and value the voice of diversity wherever I go. While I trust steadfastly in my values, morals, judgment and intuition, I’m quick enough to recognize when there is an opportunity for flexibility or adaptation. I consider myself a modern renaissance man and I firmly believe everyone should strive to reach their full potential. Philosophy “Love and pursuit of wisdom by intellectual means and moral self-discipline” Back to Topics

  8. Core Competencies Core competency is a business psychology generated catchphrase meaning “what you do well”. I view core competencies as constructs making up the work-personality we exhibit and the talents we possess. Examine the list above and you could ascertain that I’m an extroverted, expressive and intuitive personality type. To use a sports analogy I make a good Team Captain, not a third-string bench-warmer. 9. Remaining competitive compels companies to develop the strategic mindset of continuous improvement or internal business development. One of my strengths is driving internal initiatives in technology, process, knowledge capital, project management and best practices that align with organizational strategic goals and objectives. Career Interests At this career stage my primary interest centers on business development. External business development is the key to sustainability. I’ve spent years building skills and tactics that increase sales, extend brand recognition, improve marketing direction and expand service offerings through intensive research, planning and project execution. I’m driven by results that tip the balance sheet forward – my goal is to make a difference. Back to Topics

  10. Industries As a technology professional I’m more Beach Boys “I Get Around” than Glen Campbell “Lineman for the County”. As the list above reveals, my combined technology and business background has opened up diverse opportunities in industries where believe it or not, there is substantially more overlap than most executives and managers realize. A hefty benefit is achieved when you can cross-pollinate skills, knowledge and best practices from diverse experience sources to create innovative solutions. Back to Topics

  11. Work History • Work histories include small, midsize and Fortune 500. • Click a company logo to display work history. SPCS Back to Topics

  12. I seek balance and harmony in life. I enjoy spending time with my family (mostly mutual) along with personal time to recharge by actively engaging in fun, volunteer or pay forward oriented activities. • My hobbies include travel, seasonal outdoor exercise, cooking and home improvement projects. 13. Summary I’ve been a technology and business professional for over twenty years – starting as a programmer and working my way up through the ranks to experienced consultant in the Big 5. Along the way I’ve been a successful entrepreneur and businessman experiencing multiple facets of success at each level I’ve been engaged. At this stage of my career I’m poised for continued success in business development, preferably as a Director in a technology based organization. The key to my business development success has been and will continue to be my unique abilities combining technological competence with business acumen to craft sustainable solutions and broker deals when pure sales or technical perspectives cloud the picture or create impasses. I’m motivated by constant challenge, and I absolutely seek out opportunities that enable me to teach and mentor. At the end of the day I’m satisfied when I’ve made a difference and I bring considerable energy every day to make sure I reach that goal!
