  3. Total Participants= 157 91 Students (58%) 66 Faculty/Staff (42%)

  4. So How Many Made It? 68!! 54 Students (80% of those getting to LA) 14 Faculty/Staff (20% of those getting to LA) + 3 Honorable Mentions (2 faculty/staff, 1 student) +6 Consistency Participants (5 faculty/staff, 1 student)

  5. The Breakdown… • 68 Made It To LA • 59 Actively Participated But Didn’t Make It • 28 Did Nothing • 2 Withdrew From Program

  6. Of the 68 that made it to LA… • 14 walked back to Vegas • 20 walked back to Utah • 6 walked back to Denver • 3 walked back to Nebraska • 1 walked back to Chicago • 4 walked back to Rochester!

  7. 264,375 total MAP miles walked!

  8. 26,437 total ACTUAL miles walked

  9. 52,875,038 STEPS!!!!

  10. Of the 127 active participants… By the conclusion of the 8 week program: • Each averaged 208 actual miles walked • Each averaged 416,338* steps *Those making it to LA had at least 467,000 total steps.

  11. 3 participants walked more than 1 MILLION steps!!!

  14. Next Semester… OU Walks! Dominate the States • Open to all OU students, faculty & staff • January 17-March 9 (8 weeks) • Cost: $5 • Everyone will need to get a pedometer on their own. • “Travel” to all the states and earn a NEW t-shirt! • Trivia, Bonus Steps, New Prizes, and more! • Register at the Welcome Center starting January 2.

  15. OU Walks! Dominate the States • Goal: Walk 70,000 steps/WEEK • Counting steps, not miles • Country will be divided into 8 regions of 6 states plus bonus Hawaii & Alaska • Walk 70K steps/week & earn the region of the week • Prize drawing for earning the weekly region • Steps walked submitted electronically • Weekly US history trivia for chances to win prizes
