Birth Defect Unit • Students will be placed in pairs and assigned a birth defect topic. • Projects for the unit will include a multimedia presentation, poster, and oral class report.. • A final test will be given at the end of the unit. Each group will write 2 test questions from their report.

  3. Criteria to be included in each project: • Identify the assigned BIRTH DEFECT. • Determine the CAUSE: environmental, heredity, or a combination of several factors. • CHARACTERTICS of the birth defect. • TREATMENTS or PREVENTIONS for the birth defect. • VISUALS related to the birth defect.

  4. Good Luck. . . • You will become an expert on one specific birth defect. • You will learn about several different birth defects through listening to and viewing other student’s projects. • Reports will help you be aware of the importance of good, and early,prenatal care.
