Traits Traits are characteristics you get from your parents for example eye color. Eye color is a recessive trait, so if you dad has brown eyes and your mom has hazel eyes there’s a possibility you can have hazel eyes. You can see when you have hazel eyes around the pupil is brown and the rest is green.
Trait part 2 • Another example of another trait is a widows peak. It can be recessive or not, widows peak is a point or a v shape on the center of your head. The way you would get a widows peak is by a parent having one, The trait would have to be an a dominant trait to have a widows peak.
Punnett Square A Monohybrid square is based ingenetics, atype of gridused to show the gametesofeachparentandtheirpossible offspring; a typeofgridthat can indicate all the possible results ofageneticcross *XX stands for Female and XY stands for Male You will have 25 % or chance of having a girl and 50% of having a boy . The following example illustrates a Dihybrid cross between two heterozygous hair color. B represents the dominant allele for color (brown), and BB represents the stands for dark brown. bb represents the dominant allele for color (brown).
