  2. What is the Guide to Sponsorship? • A go-to guide for any LSS/LSA wishing to generate a sponsorship drive, or improve on their current sponsorship revenue.

  3. Why was it developed? • Offer more value for small and mid size LSS/LSAs. • Assist those LSS/LSAs who want to generate a sponsorship drive but don’t know how. • Knowledge sharing.

  4. A few key tips.. First thing is first: • Look at previous prospectus’ (if any). • Liaise with Exec – how much funding do they require? • Draw up a budget.

  5. A few key tips(cont.) The Prospectus: • Professionalism is key. • Sell your LSS/LSA. • Microsoft Word ‘Report’ templates. • Save as pdf. • Softcopy vs hardcopy?

  6. A few key tips(cont.) To shopping list or not? • Personal choice. • Depends on past sponsorship drives. • Tailor-made packages are sometimes preferred by certain sponsors. • Shopping list = more freedom.

  7. A few key tips(cont.) The Meet and Greet • Sponsors feel important – shows that you take a partnership seriously. • Good to begin working relationship face-to-face. • Always be on time. • Bring along copies of publications.

  8. A few key tips(cont.) Good sponsor relations • Maintain one contact person. • Email etiquette. • Prompt, • Pleasant, • Productive. • Professionalism.

  9. A few key tips(cont.) Where’s my money? • Chasing up sponsorship can be awkward.. • Usually not intentional. • Most firms are fairly cooperative. • Formal invoices are essential. • (This is a good job to allocate to your VP Finance/Treasurer..)
