1. Westward Expansion Traveling West
2. Manifest Destiny This was a term used to promote and justify Westward expansion.
It basically said that is was Americans god given right to expand west.
It was a way to justify moving Native American Tribes off land because they were not Christian.
3. Independence, Missouri Independence was the most popular "jumping off" point on the Oregon Trail. Here travelers stocked up on supplies and prepared their wagons. Travelers often tried organize a traveling party here, because no one wanted to head west alone. This was for protection and safety.
