About IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) is one of the largest  international professional organizations dedicated to  promoting women engineers and scientists, and inspiring  girls around the world to follow their academic interests in  a career in engineering and science.   3. How far “WIE” have come…. • 24,000 members in 100+ countries • 15,000+ student members • 800+ Affinity Groups and Student Branch Affinity Groups • 10 summits on 6 continents • 4 WIE Awards • Award winning WIE Magazine What’s going on in the Region?....

Olin College of Engineering* New York City College of Tech* Long Island Princeton/Central Jersey Maine Schenectady Mid-Hudson Springfield New Jersey Coast Worcester County Worcester Polytechnic Institute* There are 26 professional IEEE sections in the Northeast Region, half of which have a WIE affinity group Officer Training Session

Goals for 2018 More Affinity Groups Especially Student Branches (students are the future of IEEE) Each section participation in one Region WIE Roundtable event New in 2018 focused on Best Practices/Greatest Challenges Increased section representation in the R1/R2 WIE Forum East Two professional development or K-12 Outreach events per year Increased submissions from sections to newsletters Should be easy if you have 2+events per year!  Officer Training Session
