  6. Membership Growth of R10 WIE Around 30 % increase in recent years • Helpful to increase membership by a strong network and a sense of solidarity Section WIE AGs = 25 (<- 21 in 2010) SB WIE AGs = 135 (<- 94 in 2010) Forming R10 WIE AGs is Beneficial!!

WIE 2011 Highlights • R10 WIE Fund • Received 34 proposals, and supported 26 activities among them • R10 WIE Awards • 2010 IEEE Region 10 WIE Affinity Group of The Year Award -> WIE Affinity Group, Hyderabad Section • 2011 IEEE R10 WIE Most Inspiring Engineer Award among 5 nominations-> Prof. Riri Fitri Sari and Ms. Agnes Irwanti (Indonesia Section) • R10 Student/GOLD/WIE Congress 2011 • Co-organized with Auckland Univ. SB • Around 40 WIE delegates from R10 sections • TENCON2010 WIE Track • Organized 3 sessions, accepted for 20 oral/poster presentations, and gave WIE Best Paper Award

Project 1 - Promotion for forming new R10 WIE AGs • Promote new R10 WIE AGs formation to increase the membership • By showing benefits of forming WIE AGs and enhancing networking among women engineers • Target Value: Form 8 Section AGs and 50 SB Ags • Sections not-having WIE AGs (as of Nov. 2011) • Australian Capital Territory, Beijing, Changwon, Chengdu, Daejeon, Fukuoka, Harbin, Hiroshima, Indonesia, Kansai, Karachi, Kwangju, Lahore, Macau, Nagoya, Nanjing, New Zealand Central, New Zealand North, New Zealand South, Northern Australia, Republic of Philippines, Sendai, Shanghai, Shikoku, Shin-etsu, Sri Lanka, Taegu, Tainan, Uttar Pradesh, Vietnam, Wuhan, Xian ↑ Please encourage to form WIE AGs !

Project 2 - R10 WIE Fund (1) • Give funds to various WIE activities conducted by R10 WIE AGs • Support 20 R10 WIE AGs of excellent standing • Report should be submitted to R10 Newsletter • Expenses ($8000) for fund ($400) for each of the activities (20 activities) • Project Milestones • Call for Proposals – End of March • Proposal Deadline – End of May • Recipient Notified – August 1st week
