  4. MSW MISSION STATEMENT The Master of Social Work Program at California State University, Stanislaus prepares social workers to advance social justice. This education is committed to social change based on an analysis of social, political and economic structures and their impact. This teaching and learning environment enables faculty, students and graduates to collaborate with others to transform the conditions which contribute to privilege and oppression. Graduates are prepared to use an advanced integrative practice approachto work with individuals, families and communities to promote personal and collective liberation. OPTIONS Two-Year Program • 13-16 units each semester • Complete graduate project in the second year • Field Practicum 16 hours per week annually Three-Year Program • Average of 12 units each semester • Complete graduate project in third year • Field Practicum 16 hours per week (during the first 2 years)

  6. The Integration of… Field Practicum Theory & Practice • 1 field placement in each of two years in separate agency locations • Total of 12 units of academic credit • Bi-weekly or monthly field seminars • Assigned a field instructor & liaison + Foundation Advanced

  7. High Expectations – FIELD • 16 hours per week • Tuesdays, Thursdays and (possibly) Fridays • 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. • Employer-based placements • If you will be working start making preparations NOW!

  9. MSW Hybrid Program @ CSU Stanislaus Integrative Clinical Practice Specialization for Health, Mental Health, and Behavioral Health Settings

Program Overview:60 units in 24 months Accelerated Schedule • 2 courses every 8 weeks • 2 face-to-face class sessions per course (one Saturday per month) @ CSU Stan Stockton Ctr. • Remainder of course work completed online (asynchronous & synchronous) • Direct social work practice courses are included in every 8 week academic session

Enhance competency-based skills in direct clinical social work practice • 40 hours per week x 13 weeks (500 hours per summer) • Located in home county when possible • Employer-based placements if available • One-to-one supervision from MSW Field Instructor • 2 hours per week seminar in a local community • 2 all day Saturday Integrative seminars at CSU Stockton Center Summer Block Placement

Minimum Admission Requirements • MSW Program • Application • Autobiographical Statement • 3 professional references • Criminal history form • Deadline Feb. 1st GRADUATE SCHOOL • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited school demonstrating a liberal arts background comparable to CSU general education requirements • GPA of 2.5
