General Updates and Reminders • Outage on Saturday 1/29/2011: • Summary • 1/29  16:40 – 18:45 a system failure caused the EMS database and MMS database / application to be unavailable.  • The EMS application was able to manage LFC using data via telemetry and calculate emergency base points for the control room to use if needed, however SCED did not complete during this time • Emergency base points were issued every 2-3 minutes from 17:16 – 18:25 • The period from 16:40 – 17:16 will be settled normally, as the previous successful SCED interval BP and LMPs was held until 17:16 • The period from 17:16 – 18:25 will be settled using emergency base points • Emergency base points were not needed until 17:16 as load was not increasing significantly • Emergency base points were used from 17:16 – 18:25 to increase dispatch in 200MW increments • The MIS Dashboards and ercot.com price displays were not populated with data during this timeframe. This also impacted the EWS Get System Parameters web service http://www.ercot.com 3
