English term : Pidgins

Pidgins are grammatically simplified forms of languages, often arising in situations where speakers of different languages need to communicate. Commonly based on English, Dutch, or Portuguese, pidgins incorporate elements from local languages. While some may view pidgin as a "broken language," it plays a vital role in trade and cultural exchange. Predominantly used in countries influenced by foreign languages, such as Hawaii and Papua New Guinea, pidgins serve as a crucial bridge for communication.
