  1. Pythagorean theorem By Kory and Jeff

  2. Pythagorean theorem The equation A2 + B2 = C2

  3. Hypotenuse - C Leg - A leg - B

  4. Steps • the equation is A2 + B2 = C2…. • First figure out which numbers you need to square. • square A and B and put it equal to C2. • Then add the squared numbers together and set it equal to C2. • You have to get rid of the square of C so set C equal to the square root of the sum of A and B. • C equals the simplified, if possible, square root of A and B.

  5. How it's used in everyday life If an architect needed to have a piece of concrete the shape of a right triangle and didn’t know the measure of the hypotenuse he could use the Pythagorean Theorem to find the measurement

  6. Example A2 + B2 = C2 A=13,B=5,C=? 132 + 52 = C2 169 + 25 = C2 194 = C2 = C Now the architect knows the measure of the hypotenuse of the right triangle.

  7. Example 2 A = 4, B = 2, C = ? C = 42 + 22 = C2 16 + 4 = C2 20 = C2 C =

  8. Example 3 Here’s another type of question you might see. Answer yes or no If C = Then A = 4 and B = 2 The answer would be yes

  9. conclusion The Pythagorean Theorem is a fun but a complicated method of figuring types of math problems. Ms. Anderson is the best at teaching this method because she’s the best teacher in the world and she’s so nice that she’s going to give Jeff and Kory a passing grade. I hope that this presentation has been helpful to the people that didn’t understand it before. If you still don’t understand then you should ask Ms. Anderson to help you.
