Eligibility criteria Experience (calculated at the start of secondment, full-time equivalent) Early Stage Researchers (ESR) • No PhD • Research experience ≤ 4* years Experienced Researchers (ER 4 - 10 or MER >10) • PhD or Research experience ≥ 4* years Technical and managerial staff To be agreed with REA during negotiation * counted from the diploma that gives the rights to embark in a doctoral degree

  5. Relationship with the home institution • "To be eligible staff member researchers must have been active at the sending beneficiary continuously for at least 12 months (full time equivalent) prior to the start of the first secondment period"

  6. Main features • “The host organisation shouldconclude, together with the beneficiary home organisation, an agreement with each staff member researcher hosted for a secondment period under the project” (The GA should be annexed to the agreement) • Staff exchange has to be always inter-sectoral • Normally between different countries • Up to 30% of total researcher-months in the same country • The secondment period can have a duration of at least 2 months up to a maximum of 24 months (full-time equivalent). • The secondment period can be split in several stays not exceeding 24 months in total and not going beyond the project duration. • Return Mechanism - The home organisation should commit by contractual means to host the staff member researcher on his/her return for at least 12 months following the secondment period.

Eligible criteria • Experience • (calculated at the start of secondment, full-time equivalent) Experienced Researchers (ER 4-10 or MER >10) • PhD or Research experience ≥ 4* years Duration of appointment: 12-24 months * counted from the diploma that gives the rights to embark in a doctoral degree

  9. “The researchers may be a national of a Member State, of an Associated Country or of any other third country” • Mobility rule • The researcher must not have resided or carried out his/her main activity (work, studies, etc) in the country of his/her host organisation for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to his/her recruitment. Short stays, such as holidays, are not taken into account. Exceptions: International Organisations For international European interest organisations or international organisations located in any of the Member States or Associated countries the mobility rule does not apply to the hosting country of eligible researchers. However to be eligible the appointed researcher must not have spent more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the date of selection in the same appointing international organisation.

"The researcher must devote him/herself full-time to his/her knowledge sharing and inter-sector mobility activities" • Type A “Employment Contract” • Full-time contract • Gross amounts including all compulsory deductions under national legislation • Type B “Fixed amount fellowship/stipend” • To be agreed with REA during negotiation - RECRUITMENT: only when national regulation would prohibit to recruit the researcher under an employment contract
