  2. Why Motivation is Important for Women Engineers? • To be more confident • To get better job • To lead a team • Self motivated for additional work. • To improve technical and analytical skills • For self actualization

  3. ‘Engineering’ as a profession for Women in Pakistan • Women are 50% of the consumers of products in our society and make over 50% of the purchasing decisions. • Engineering should be/could be the 21st century foundation for all of the professions. • Studies show that women are more likely to stress interpersonal factors (e.g. helping others),whereas men tend to value money and status more (Eccles, 1994; Morgan et al., 2001). • Technology plays Vitol role in economy therfore the number of engineering graduates must increase and since females and minorities are under-represented hence they offer great potential sources of engineers (Baumet al 1990) • .

  5. Career – a word which is mostly confined to a man’s world at least in countries like Pakistan. When it comes to women, it loses its worth and changes its meaning.   6. Challenges for Women Engineers in Pakistan • Physical stress due to mechanical/harsh environment • Gender discrimination in recruitment policies, opportunities and salary structures • Harassment • Insufficient facilities etc • Major General ShahidaBadsha Pakistan’s first female three-star

Inspire younger generations about engineering by highlighting success of women in Engineering & Technology(Self Actualization) • Sally Ride, In 1983, Ride was the first United States woman in space, • Lisa Jackson was appointed by President Barack Obama as the current head of the Environmental Protection Agency. (Masters in Chemical Engineering) • Karen Purcell, P.E., is the founder and president of PK Electrical, an Electrical Engineering, design, and consulting(Author of several Engineering books) Engr. Asfia Aleem (Ist Lady Engineer ,1968 from NED)) worked at senior positions in well reputed organizations of Pakistan viz Gammon Pakistan, Pakistan Steel, Airports Development Agency, Civil Aviation Authority, NEDUET and SSUET.

Engineer Becky has been recognized with the Women in Aerospace (WIA) Achievement Award for her outstanding contributions to NASA‘s Marissa Mayer, Google's first female Engineer who was appointed president and CEO of Yahoo Inc.. Dr. DurdanaHabib, (NUST), received Grace Hopper Award for 2014 from USA. Grace Hopper developer of the first compiler for a computer programming language, developer of UNIVAC I and COBOL

How to solve the basic problems of female Engineers? • Introduce the flexible working hours • Promote liaison between Industry and female student-bodies • Promote the equal opportunity employment • Take facilitating measures for women in “industry” • Generation of scholarships and award for female engineers • Take measures to eliminate the gender discrimination • Implementation of laws to eliminate the harassment

  10. Innovations & Female Engineers? Female Engineers are changing the world all of the time. They dream up creative, practical solutions and work with teams of smart, inspiring people to invent, design, and create things that matter. Now globally women Engineers proved themselves by giving quality hard work for different organizations.

  11. CONCLUSION On the basis of all discussion motivation among Women in Engineering profession are justified with higher salaries, the possibility to help others, the increasing need for engineers, and the impact of diversity on new designs. Karen Nyberg, Astronaut
