  1. ICT Lecture Adventures KolbyMonczko This adventure follows a student participating in a cross country training class. Click the geometric shapes to navigate your way around the interactive digital story board. Only you can choose the outcome of the runner.

  2. In the beginning • Your PE class is practicing for the school cross country in the upcoming weeks. • Will you… Be overly excited to run because you just ate a bag of red frogs. Decide running is not for you and you don’t participate. Try really hard in the first training session.

  3. You ate a bag of red frogs • You thought it was a good idea to eat a bag of red frogs before training to get an energy boost so you could show off and impress your friends by winning the race. • What happens next? Your sugar rush quickly dies as you sprint for the first 400 meters and you walk the rest of the course. You are too excited to race and forget to stretch before running and injure your ankle.

  4. Your sugar rushed died and you walk the rest of the track • After embarrassing yourself and finishing 10 minutes after everyone else you finally reach the finish line just in time for lunch break. • What will you do next week? You consistently eat lollies before training and don’t gain any fitness. You learn from your mistake and eat a proper lunch instead of lollies before training.

  5. You forgot to stretch before running and injured your ankle • You spend the next 3 weeks on the side line watching your classmates train. • Click here to try again: Fail

  6. You keep eating lollies and don’t gain any fitness • You keep eating red frogs thinking that you will do better next time. • You don’t. • You gain no fitness and end up finishing last at the running carnival. • Click here to try again: Fail

  7. You learn from your mistake and stop eating frogs before training • You start eating properly before training and impress yourself by running your best and finishing in the top 5. • What happens next? Do you… Stop eating properly and fall behind your classmates. Keep up your diet and continue running at your best.

  8. You chose to stop eating properly • You stopped eating properly and as a result you lost all the fitness you had gained. On the day of the race you try your hardest, but without the energy you are unable to run the whole distance and end up walking to the finish line. • Click here to try again: You Fail

  9. You kept up your diet and trained hard • With a proper diet and hard work you managed to greatly improve your fitness. On race day you run your record time, but are not able to keep up to the kids who practiced hard from the first week. • Click here to try again: Good try, but you lose!

  10. You decided running isn’t for you • You don’t like running because you think it’s boring and pointless. • What will you do in next weeks class? Get in trouble for being difficult and are forced to write lines. Decide to join in after watching how much fun your fellow class mates had last week.

  11. You decided to join in this week • After sitting on the side line last week and watching, you saw your fellow classmates having fun and decided to join in. • What do you do? You try your best to keep up with your classmates. You try extra hard to keep up, but you fall behind and get discouraged.

  12. You tried extra hard to keep up, but fell behind • Because you missed the first training session you fall behind your fellow class mates and walk the rest of the course. You feel you have let yourself down and promise not to give up on race day. • Click here to try again: Fail

  13. You tried your best to keep up • You are unable to keep up with your classmates and wish you took part in the first weeks training. You Fail Click here to try again:

  14. You got in trouble for being difficult • You try and act cool by acting up to the teacher the next lesson and refuse to take part in practice. You Fail Click here to try again:

  15. You tried your best in the first training session • You really impressed yourself with your first weeks run. You came first out of all of your classmates and got a free icy pole for winning. • What will you do next week? Become motivated to beat your last years time and continue to train hard. Slack off and not train because you won last time and think that you are better than everyone else.

  16. You decided to slack off • You thought that you were ready to join the Olympic running team and did not train. While you were boasting about how fast you are the other students continued to training and in the next training session you fell behind finishing 7th. You Fail Click here to try again:

  17. You Become motivated to beat your last years time and continue to train hard • After impressing not only yourself, but your fellow students you become motivated to keep training and win this years race. • What do you do next? Keep training hard every week at school. Train outside of school and improve your diet.

  18. Train outside of school and improve your diet • You continue training hard in school and develop a running schedule that you stick to 3 times a week out of school. You also decide to cut out unnecessary fat from your diet. With all your hard work you have impressed your parents and they decided to buy you a… Pair of new running shoes. Skateboard.

  19. You chose the new pair of running shoes • You have your brand new pair of shoes and are ready for your big race. You have trained hard and consistently for the last few weeks and have been properly dieting. You are as ready as you will ever be. You run the best you ever have and break the school record. You are proud of your self and go on to the district level. Which you easily win and advance through to the regional team. Champion

  20. You chose the skateboard • The day before the big race you decided to go for a skate. You fell off your board and grazed your hands and knees and were unable to compete in the race the following day. You Fail Click here to try again:

  21. Keep training hard every week at school • You have consistently trained hard at school and you are now mentally planning out how you are going run on race day. • Will you… Sprint ahead at the start of the race to try and get an early lead. Pace yourself at a steady speed.

  22. You chose to sprint ahead • You sprint ahead and have a large lead for the first two laps, but because you used so much extra energy in the beginning your pace drops and by the final lap you are only slowly jogging. The person behind you is quickly catching up. You try to pick up your pace, but you don’t have the energy. You finish second. You are disappointed because you knew you could have one if you paced yourself correctly. Good try, but you lose! Click here to try again:

  23. You paced yourself from the beginning • You decided to think smart and pace yourself from the very beginning, for the first lap you are in fifth place because people sprinted in front to try and get an early lead. By the second lap three runners have dropped back and you have kept your consistent pace. Once you have reached the second lap your hard work pays off as you are able to cruise by the last couple runners and end up finishing 30 seconds ahead of the runner who placed second. You are proud of your hard work and have made it through to the district race. On the day of your race you finish fifth which you are happy with, but you wish you would have trained out side of school and dieted! So close!! Try again!
