Backward Design • Backward Design • Wiggins and McTighe state that you can’t start planning how you’re gong to teach until you know exactly what you want your students to learn • Identify desired results • Determine acceptable evidence • Plan learning experiences & instruction
Lesson Plans • Research based lesson plans: • Lesson objective • Content to covered within lesson • Multiple activities • Resources & materials needed • Time allotment • Work to be completed outside of class • Method of assessment
Lesson Plans at LMS • Weekly Lesson plans for the coming week should be sent via email no later than 8:00 a.m. each Monday morning • Saved with a specific file name including: • Lastnamefirstinitialmonth_Monday’sdate • Example: Davisc9_30 • Next, office personnel save as a PDF file in a shared drop box • All administrative team members have access • Moved to a network drive at the end of each month because of storage constraints
