SCIENCE OBJECTIVES • STUDENTS WILL DEVELOP THE SKILLS TO LEARN, THINK, AND EXPLORE THE MANY QUESTIONS IN THE WORLD OF SCIENCE. • STUDENTS WILL LINK PRIOR KNOWLEDGE WITH NEW INFORMATION TO HELP THEM GET A SENSE OF HOW SCIENCE RELATES TO LIFE. • STUDENTS WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY FOR DISCOVERY THROUGH EXPERIMENTS AND HANDS ON LABS.

PAPERS TURNED IN ON THE NEXT DAY UNTIL 4:00 WILL HAVE 10% DEDUCTED. AFTER 4:00 ON THIS DAY PAPERS WILL BECOME A ZERO. MONDAYASSINGMENT GIVEN TUESDAY ASSIGNMENT DUE BY 4:00 WEDNESDAY ASSIGNEMENT LATE 10% OFF THURSDAY “0” CREDIT GIVEN

FIFTH AND SIXTH GRADE PROMOTION REQUIREMENTS FOR A STUDENT TO BE PROMOTED FROM 5TH TO 6TH GRADE OR 6TH TO 7TH GRADE THE STUDENT MUST PASS THE FOLLOWING COURSES: SCIENCE READING SPELLING MATH ENGLISH SOCIAL STUDIES
FIFTH AND SIXTH GRADE PROMOTION REQUIREMENTS ANY STUDENT THAT RECEIVES AN “F” IN ANY CORE COURSE IN THE FIRST OR SECOND SEMESTER WILL HAVE A MEETING TO REVIEW THEIR ACADEMIC PROGRESS WITH THEIR PARENTS, TEACHERS, AND PRINCIPAL. THIS GROUP MAY CHOOSE 1. DO ADDITIONAL COURSE WORK THE 2ND SEMESTER OR THE SUMMER PRIOR TO ADVANCING TO THE NEXT GRADE. 2. RETAIN THE STUDENT IN THE CURRENT GRADE WITH RETENTION BEING STRONGLY CONSIDERED IF A STUDENT IS FAILING MORE THAN ONE SUBJECT.
