  1. Animated Movies Animated Movies We all watch and love animated movies, whether it’s sitting down watching free online movies with the family, or just enjoying an animated film for a laugh. Thanks to free movie streaming websites we have access to animated films 24/7 – but what are animated films? They are a lot more *involved* to make than you think. There are 4 basic techniques used to make an animated film: DRAWN ANIMATION - This pretty much covers any form where one drawing is replaced by another in sequence with each drawing slightly different to the drawing before it, it works just like a *flip-book* does. Drawn animation films are made up of thousands of drawings which are shown on screen one after the other very quickly. It takes a LONG time to film an animated movie like this from start to finish and requires a team of animators to complete the work. CUT-OUT ANIMATION - This covers any type of animation where cut-out shapes are moved around or replaced by other flat objects. String, buttons, matchsticks, etc. can be used for this type of animation. The cut-outs can also be laid on top of drawings and while this is a very quick and easy process, it’s hard to have more than 2 objects moving at the same time and as a result cut-out animation can appear stiff. MODEL or STOP-MOTION ANIMATION - This type of animation requires three-dimensional models and the materials used can include clay, wire or plasticine – pretty much anything that can be formed into another shape or bent. The puppets are positioned, filmed, moved a fraction and filmed again. When all these shots are put together as a film it will look like the models

  2. have been moving. The great thing is these models can be used time and time again with copies of them made to shoot different scenes at the same time. This style of animation, however takes time and hard work, for example the makers of *James and the Giant Peach* could only complete 45 seconds of stop-motion animation each week – less than 10 seconds a day! COMPUTER ANIMATION - Also known as CGI - Computer Generated Imagery – drawings of three-dimensional models are made on a computer or images can be scanned into the computer. Human characters are usually built from clay while the furnishings and sets are modelled using programmes architect drawings. The models are scanned into a computer as wire-frame models that are then built up into a coloured and textured form. Animated films are fun for the whole family why not watch one at a free online movie streaming website tonight. similar to Presented By Presented By viewlorium.com
