  6. Recreation Strategy Objectives • Objective 1: Manage Public Lands for Recreation Experiences and Quality of Life • Objective 2: Encourage Sustainable Travel/Tourism Collaboration with Gateway Communities • Objective 3: Provide Fair Value and Fair Return through Fees and Commercial Services

Recreation Strategy Objectives • Objective 4: Establish a Comprehensive Approach to Travel Planning and Management • Objective 5: Ensure Public Health and Safety and Improve Facility Condition and Accessibility • Objective 6: Enhance and Expand Visitor Services, Including Interpretation, Information and Education • Objective 7: Encourage and Sustain Collaborative Partnerships, Volunteers and Public Service

  8. Recreation Fees in Colorado • BLM has over 5.8 million visitors annually • BLM collected nearly $190,000 in 2007 under Recreation Enhancement Act authority, in order to: • Operate, maintain, and reconstruct • Provide interpretive programs • Provide additional trail patrols
