  3. After installation of a V7 Software Delivery Product (SDP), you will see that the Default license that is installed is a Trial. You must install the Activation Kit which contains the full license to change it to a permanent license. Alternatively, obtain a floating type FlexLM license key and install a V7 Rational Floating License Server. (Available for MS Windows end of 1Q07) – This is beyond the scope of this document.   4. Where to find the license You need to find the Activation Kit jar file from Passport Advantage. The steps below will describe how to find the Activation Kit for RAD 7. For any other products, the steps are similar. Each eAssembly will have an Activation Kit jar file available for download. On Passport Advantage, the file number is C96H2ML. You can search using the file numbers in the screenshots below. Look for the RAD 7 installation files (see screenshot) Find the activation kit jar file download and save it (see screenshot)

  5. Installing License through the Installation Manager • Start IBM Installation Manager. • On the main page, click Manage Licenses.

  6. Cont’d • On the Install Packages page, select a package and click Import product enablement kit. • Click Next. Details for the selected package are displayed, including the current license kind and the version range the license applies to.

  7. Cont’d • Browse to the path of the download location for the kit; then select the Activation Kit(JAR file) that was obtained earlier and click Open.

  8. Last Step • Click Next. The Summary page displays the target install directory for the activation kit, the product the new license applies to, and version information. • Click Finish. • Once installed, your license type should now be Permanent.

  9. Future changes • There are plans to allow the Permanent License to be installed along with the product itself.
