  1. A Multi-year agreement between the Obamas and Netflix Netflix has announced a multi-year contract with former US President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle. The Obamas would create "a dynamic mix of content, including the potential for scripted shows, unwritten shows, documentaries, and features." Post-presidency; this arrangement offers the couple an international forum to attract millions around the world. For the same cause, the Obamas set up Higher Ground Productions "as an agency in which they will produce content for Netflix," Netflix said. The Obamas stated that they want to use "the power of storytelling" to encourage shared values. "One of the simple joys of our time in public service has been to meet so many interesting people from all walks of life with a broader audience," said Barack Obama.

  2. Netflix 's Chief Content Officer, Ted Sarandos, feels "unbelievably proud" that "highly known public figures have chosen to make Netflix their home for their formidable storytelling abilities." He also believed that the Obamas are "uniquely placed to uncover and showcase the storeys of people who make a difference in their communities and aspire to change the world for the better." The New York Times wrote back in March about Barack Obama 's upcoming Netflix series that would highlight inspiring people and storeys; while another upcoming show that would see him hosting debates on topics such as health care, voting rights, immigration, climate change and foreign policy, among others.
