  5. Setting the Table of Community

  6. This is the Bible. It has stories of how much God loves us and helps us. As we learn to see God in these stories we can learn to see God in our lives.

  7. We are bringing in the Word of God (x4) We are bringing, we are bringing Oh, we are bringing in the Word of God (x2)

  8. This is the light, reminding us that Jesus is the light of the world. Showing us that God wants us to love each other like Jesus loves us.

  9. We are bringing in the Light of God (x4) We are bringing, we are bringing Oh, we are bringing in the Light of God (x2)

  10. This is the offering plate, reminding us that God wants us to share; Reminding us of the many treasures that God has given us, and that when we share we make everything so much better for everyone. “We are bringing in the Gifts of God”

  11. We are bringing in the Gifts of God (x4) We are bringing, we are bringing Oh, we are bringing in the Gifts of God (x2)

  12. Call to Worship One: Sometimes we worry that we don’t have enough, but... All: God gives us enough! One: Jesus knew that… All: God gives us enough! One: Our lives are better because… All: God gives us enough!

  13. 1. Come into God’s presence singing “Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!” 2. Come into God’s presence singing, “Jesus is Lord”... 3. Come into God’s presence singing, “Glory to God”…

  14. Time With the Younger Church

  15. Gracious God, we confess that often we are very concerned that we don't have enough. Enough food, enough money, and the list goes on and on. We confess that we worry and fret, that we don't trust that you know what we need, and that, deep down, we aren't really confident that you can supply what we need. Help us to be like the children in our story who trusted Jesus with what little they had and were amazed as it became enough for so many. Help us to trust that you will give us enough of everything that we need. In Jesus name we pray: We Tell God We Are Sorry

  16. Lord, listen to your children praying, Lord, send your Spirit in this place. Lord, listen to your children praying, Send us love, send us power, Send us grace.

  17. We Listen to God Based on Matthew 14:13-21

  18. How many of you have ever eaten so much at a dinner that you were stuffed? • When? How did you feel? • How many of you have ever been really hungry but you had nothing to eat? How did that feel? • Why were the people around Jesus and the disciples hungry? How do you think that they felt? • What did Jesus do to insure that the people had enough to eat? • Why do you suppose Jesus did that? • When has God surprised you with enough? • Turn to your neighbor and say, “God gives us enough.”

  19. Seek ye first the kingdom of God And his righteousness, And all these things shall be added unto you, Allelu, Alleluia. Ask and it shall be given unto you; Seek and you shall find, Knock and the door shall be opened unto you, Allelu, Alleluia.

  20. We Give to God

  21. Invitation to the TableThank you, Lord, for saving my soul.Thank you, Lord, for making me whole.Thank you, Lord, for giving to meYour great salvation so rich and free.

  22. THE GREAT PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING Leader: The Lord be with you. People: And also with you. Leader: Lift up your hearts. People: We lift them to the Lord. Leader: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. People: It is right to give our thanks and praise.

  23. Children and Youth: Why do we give thanks at this table? People: We give thanks for God’s creation, for making us in God’s image. We give thanks because God never gave up on us, even though we were not faithful to God. We give thanks because when it was time, God sent the only Son, Jesus, to show God’s love for us. Children and Youth: How do we praise God for all this? Leader: With all the faithful of every time and place, this song is sung to God’s glory:

  24. Children and Youth: What do we remember at this table? People: We remember God’s Son, Jesus: He healed the sick and restored sight to the blind; He welcomed strangers and ate with outcasts. Dying on the cross, he saved us from our sins, Risen from the dead, he gives us new life. Children and Youth: How are we able to remember? People: We are able to remember because of the gift of the Holy Spirit, God’s first gift to those who believe, who will complete God’s work in the world.

  25. Children and Youth: Why do we eat bread at this table? Leader: On the night before he died, Jesus took bread, blessed it, and gave it to his friends. He told them to eat it and remember him. And ministering in Jesus’ name, we do likewise. Children: Why do we drink from the cup at this table? Leader: After the meal, Jesus took the cup, and gave it to them as the promise that our sins are forgiven. And ministering in Jesus’ name, we do likewise.

  26. Children and Youth: But this is just everyday bread and grape juice. Leader: Let us pray that the everyday bread and juice will become holy: Gracious God, pour out your Holy Spirit upon us and upon these your gifts of bread and cup, that the bread we break and the cup we bless may be the communion of the body and blood of Christ. People: Through Christ, with Christ, in Christ, In the unity of the Holy Spirit, All glory and honor are yours, Almighty God, now and forever. Amen.

  27. Leader: Since this meal brings us together with all Christians, Let us pray for the needs of the world, the church, and all of God’s children. (People are invited to verbally offer prayers, and after each offering of two or three prayers we will sing.) ”Holy Spirit Come to Us” 2x
