Understanding Service-Learning at the University of Idaho

Service-Learning at the University of Idaho integrates community service with academic learning. What is…. • Service-Learning is … a teaching method under which students learn and develop through active participation in thoughtfully organized service that: • Meets a need in the community; • Relates to each student’s course work; • Involves reflection on the student’s part; • Creates a bridge between the university and the communities around it.
