  1. ACD Installation, Post LAT CDR • Response to GLAST LAT CDR RFA Number 13: MGSE Detailed Dimension Study [for ACD Installation] • A) Perform detailed dimension study. Crane hook height appears inadequate for installation of ACD • See slides 3 and 4 • B) Provide information on the clean room entrances and clearances that will exist when equipment (including GSE) is brought in and out. • Large, Double Door to Class 100K Crane Room is 111” [ 2,819 mm ] wide by 108” [ 2,743 mm ] high • Small, Single Door to Class 100K Clean Room is 59” [ 1,499 mm ] wide by 79” [ 2,007 mm ] high • The LAT on the Integration Stand, the Low Profile ACD Integration Stand and the 8’ x 8’ x 6.2’ tall ACD Dolly fits in Rm 104; See slide 5

  2. ACD Installation, Post CDR Concept • SLAC will develop a low profile integration stand • When ready for ACD mate operations, the LAT will be lifted from the Rotation / Support Stand and set onto the low profile stand • Next slide shows available clearances • The “available clearances” assume an 8” [ 203 mm ] high spreader • Current welded joint analyses indicate that the spreader needs to be at least 8” high (i.e., Rectangular Structural Steel Tubing that is also 6” wide and 0.375” thick) • 13.6” [ 345 mm ] of room to operate crane along Z (vertical)

  3. ACD Installation, Low Profile Integration Stand LAT 4x4 Lift Spreader (8” [203 mm] Height), 6” [152 mm] Clearance between Spreader and ACD, Plus Crane Scale requires 36” Crane Lift Block at high point 36.3” [ 922 mm ] 134” [ 3,403 mm ] ACD 97.7” [ 2,482 mm ] 6.0” [ 153 mm ] Low Profile ACD Integration Stand 51.8” [ 1,316 mm ] 20.0” [ 508 mm ]

  4. LAT With ACD To / From Rotation Stand • Crane load block maximum height is 134 inches[ 3,403 mm ] (Hook removed) • No problem moving LAT to / from integration stand • 13.6” [ 345 mm ] Operable Height for Crane, with Scale in the loop Crane Load Block Crane Lift Block attaches directly to Crane Scale that attaches directly to Lift Spreader Post 8,856 lbs 29.2” [ 742 mm ] ¾” OTS 316 CRES Turnbuckles Rated for 5,200 lbs each ACD Installed 6.0” [ 152.4 mm ] 120.4” [ 3,058 mm ] 53.0” [ 1,346 mm ]

  5. LAT With ACD To / From Rotation Stand • All Required Hardware for ACD Integration Fits in Room • ACD Low Profile Integration Stand and its Dolly are within Crane’s Pick Zone • ACD on Dolly easily fits through Double Doors ( LAT May require bagging during door opening events) ACD Low Profile Integration Stand ACD on 8’ by 8’ Dolly Integration Stand is Placed to Allow Range of Motion for PAPs
