  1. THE KINGDOM OF GOD WITHIN YOU Text: Luke 17:20-33 Intro: What does a kingdom means? Kingdom- is a state where it is govern by a king or a queen. Aim: For us to allow the King of kings reign in our hearts. The coming of the kingdom of God does not come with observation-v 20 Neither does it come through natural signs

Indeed the kingdom of God is within you -v 22 • Although He said His kingdom is not of this world (John 18:36), if he reigns in your heart then it is His kingdom • Because we are not of this world-John 15:18-19 “If the world hates you, know that it hated Me first before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.” • A kingdom within is hardly affected by external factors

  3. If it is within, what does it means to seek first the kingdom of God? Matthew 6:33 • We need to desire to see one of the days of Jesus as it is closely related to His kingdom-v 22 • You do not need to go somewhere to see His kingdom-v 23 • When signs appear claiming to be signs of His kingdom, do not follow them-v 24 III. The main problem we have today is His kingdom suffers rejection-v 25 • Luke 10:16- He who hears you hears Me, he who rejects you rejects Me, and he who rejects Me rejects Him who sent Me.

  4. Many people even Christians claimed to know Him but: -He is not the King of their lives -He doesn’t have authority as a King -They still have their own rules-Ex. UK laws -They just ignore His word -They just live as if there’s no king over them -They don’t even bother about Him IV. Prediction of the days of the Son of man-v 26-30 • It will be like the days of Noah-v 26 • They ate, they drank, they married wives, they are given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark

Gen 6:5And GOD saw that the wickedness of man [was] great in the earth, and [that] every imagination of the thoughts of his heart [was] only evil continually. • Gen 6:11The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. • Basically these are the things that make them busy enough that they don’t have time to listen to His word. • And the flood came and destroyed them all • It will also be like the days of Lot • They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built • They were all destroyed

Implication • Those in the house, do let them go back to take their goods • Those in the field, let them not turn back • Remember Lot’s wife-v 32 • Gen 19:17So it came to pass, when they had brought them outside, that he said, "Escape for your life! Do not look behind you nor stay anywhere in the plain. Escape to the mountains, lest you be destroyed. • Gen 19:26But his wife looked back behind him, and she became a pillar of salt. • Gen 19:22Hurry, escape there. For I cannot do anything until you arrive there." Therefore the name of the city was called Zoar.

  7. VI. Application • Better lost something or your life for the kingdom of God than having those things and lost the kingdom of God Challenge: What matters to you most, His kingdom or some other things? Do we really seek first His kingdom? Is it really our priority as if we can live without it? Conclusion: Matthew 6:33 Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.
