  1. Veteran Court Orientation, Introduction, Assessment, and Assimilation 30 day minimum Referral to VA or community treatment services for assessment to address substance use and/or behavioral health needs Attendance at Veterans Treatment Court docket as often as one time per week Reporting to Probation Officer Formal admission to the program – sign contract and complete plea Attendance at groups and/or self-help meetings, if applicable Identifying goals: (may include housing, treatment services, education or vocational training) Regular and Random Drug testing

  2. Veteran Court Phase I – Orientation Phase 90 day minimum Weekly or bi-weekly court appearances as determined by the Veterans Treatment Court Judge. Taking medication as directed by medical and/or mental health professionals. Consistent financial payments to Probation as determined by the Court Reporting to your Probation Officer Involvement in treatment as directed Formulation of personal goals with the assistance of the treatment team (GED, vocational/educational counseling, psychotherapy, exercise, anger management, parenting skills, etc.) Connection to an assigned Veteran Peer Mentor Attendance at all scheduled treatment appointments Regular and Random Drug testing

Veteran Court Phase II – Stabilization Phase 150 day minimum Consistent financial payments through Probation for any costs and/or restitution Ongoing review and updating of the treatment plan Attend all scheduled meetings with probation officer. Clean and sober recreation/ fellowship Establish and maintain treatment attendance and participation Regular contact with Veteran Peer Mentor Attend all scheduled Veterans Treatment Court dockets (bi-weekly or every three weeks) Strengthen relationship with Veteran Peer Mentor Identify goals for employment, education, benefits, community service, healthy activities Identify housing options if not already in place Submit to all drug testing

Veteran Court Phase III – Community Reintegration Phase 120 day minimum Consistent financial payment to Probation, and other agencies as determined by the treatment team Maintain employment and/or progress toward an educational goal or community service Attend self-help mtgs. and maintain sponsor, if appropriate Continued counseling and treatment services as directed Maintain safe and stable housing Appear for all scheduled Veteran Treatment Court dockets as directed by the Judge (Required at 1 to 2 times per month) Update treatment goals to reflect progress Report to your Probation Officer as instructed Submit to all drug testing

  5. Veteran Court Phase IV – Maintenance Phase/Graduation 120 day minimum Update treatment goals to address graduation and goals beyond this program Consistent financial payment to Probation to address any outstanding costs, fees or restitution Appear in court for progress reviews an average of one time per month Attend self-help mtgs and maintenance of sponsor, if appropriate Continued counseling and treatment services as directed Submit to all drug testing Maintain full-time employment and/or actively pursue vocational/ educational goals, or community service Preparation of graduation application Report to your Probation Officer as instructed Continue established Peer Mentor relationship
