  2. What is Climate?  • The general or average weather conditions of a certain region, including temperature, rainfall, and wind. On Earth, climate is most affected by latitude, the tilt of the Earth's axis, the movements of the Earth's wind belts, the difference in temperatures of land and sea, and topography. Human activity, especially relating to actions relating to the depletion of the ozone layer, is also an important factor. • http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/Climate

  3. What is weather?  • The state of the atmosphere at a particular time and place. Weather is described in terms of variable conditions such as temperature, humidity, wind velocity, precipitation, and barometric pressure. Weather on Earth occurs primarily in the troposphere, or lower atmosphere, and is driven by energy from the Sun and the rotation of the Earth. The average weather conditions of a region over time are used to define a region's climate. • http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/weather?o=100074

  4. *What are the similarities and differences between climate and weather? Weather is the state of the atmosphere at a particular place and time described in terms of temperature, air pressure, clouds, wind and precipitation. Climate is the long-term average of weather. In many areas temperature can vary by as much as 30 degrees Fahrenheit from day to day. However the average temperature for a whole year seldom varies by more than 1 degree Fahrenheit. The similarities are that it’s all about weather. It changes the high and low temperatures.

  5. How has the change in climate created a change in weather patterns? The climate is changing. The earth is warming up, and there is now overwhelming scientific consensus that it is happening, and human-induce d. With global warming on the increase and species and their habitats on the decrease, chances for ecosystems to adapt naturally are diminishing. Many are agreed that climate change may be one of the greatest threats facing the planet. Recent years show increasing temperatures in various regions, and/or increasing extremities in weather patterns. The climate is changing. 6. How is the global climate changing?  Is it getting warmer or colder? How do we know? • The climate is changing. 7. Pick a biome and figure out if the overall temperature and precipitation has changed in the past 150 years:  deciduous forest, rain forest, desert, boreal/ coniferous forest, tundra, or polar.

  8. How does the changing climate effect a biota
