  2. Have you ever been in a really bad storm at sea?

  3. Matt 8:23-25 NLT 23 Then Jesus got into the boat and started across the lake with his disciples. 24Suddenly, a fierce storm struck the lake, with waves breaking into the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. 25The disciples went and woke him up, shouting, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!” • A storm is not expected: may panic, see things worse than they are • Q. Does it feel like Jesus is sleeping – a storm shows us we need him. • Jesus slept: “When you know your authority you can sleep”

You have so little faith!” Then he got up and rebuked the wind and waves, and suddenly there was a great calm.27The disciples were amazed. “Who is this man?” they asked. “Even the winds and waves obey him!” • Jesus shows the importance of strongpersonal faith • He wants you to have strong personal authority • Rebuked the wind and waves (individually)…great calm /peace… • Break down the problem… Wind: push you over ‘beat you’ • Waves: pull you under ‘drown you’
