  2. Energy Efficiency Definition Achieving the same or better performance from lights, appliances, and heating and cooling systems while using less energy and money Why Energy Efficiency?   3. What Have Others in the AOC Done? • St. Martin of Tours • LED Lighting Upgrades • Open House: Thursday, June 26 from 1-3pm BEFORE BEFORE- 24, 400 W Metal Halide AFTER AFTER-24, 170 W LED

Rebates • Currently, utilities offer rebates for completing energy efficient programs • Prescriptive • Custom • Usually they amount to somewhere around 10% of project costs. • Contractor should apply for these for you. • DPL is currently offering 150% rebates for lighting. (150% rebates for motors and HVAC later this year) • Future of all rebates in Ohio is uncertain. • SB 310

Funding and Contract • AOC requires 100% of funds to be available for any project. • Capital campaign exception • Unfortunately, getting a loan whose payments are less than energy $ savings is not allowed. • Exception: Getting a lease instead of a loan • This is how Carroll High School made their project happen • Please contact our office to help set up contract for energy efficiency projects

  6. Becoming More Energy Efficient • Complete Energy Audit • Professional • In-house or AOC property management. Look at: • Lighting and controls • HVAC • Sealing gaps • Insulation levels • Water usage • Plug loads • Search for contractors • Turn key • Trade specific • Contract project using Standard Contract/Contact AOC • Secure available rebates • Complete project and enjoy the savings
