  1. Identifying Artifacts and Providing Rationales Senior Portfolio

  2. Portfolio Deadlines • Recommendation Letters (x2) Due: March 21st • College Essay • If you have one done already, you can use that essay. Provide the prompt and college name with your essay. • If you haven’t done one, look at the back of your rubric for samples of what you can do. • Due: Tuesday, March 18th

  3. Artifacts • For the portfolio, you need to have three artifacts that prove the following qualities: • Personal Responsibility • Academic Achievement • Career Readiness

  4. Personal Responsibility Below are possible ideas for artifacts in this area: • Employability qualities worksheet • Community service (Student Service) • Drama, chorus, OM, sports, etc. • School/community involvement • Letters of introduction • Awards/certificates • Report card (Citizenship/conduct) • Volunteer activities • Technology involvement • Artistic work (including music) • Student Service Learning • Pets/Siblings

  5. Academic Achievement Below are possible ideas for artifacts in this area: • Transcript/report card (This could include a turn around in achievement for the better.) • Portfolio work for a class (Chem. Comm., English) • Career Technology Center evaluations • Academic work (Could tie in to career choices.) • Tutoring • Participation in extra-curricular activities (Must be eligible.) • SAT or ACT Scores • College acceptance letters

Career/College Readiness Below are possible ideas for artifacts in this area: • Job Shadowing • Career exploration field trips • Awards/certificates • Pictures of jobs/skills • Products • Evaluation documents • School based activities related to career choice • Career Technology Center • Proof of skills training • Proof of college research • Pictures from college visits

  7. Rationale • Once you have found your artifact, you need to provide a rationale that explains how your artifact connects to personal responsibility, academic achievement, or career/college readiness and you need to explain how the artifact relates back to your goal.

  8. You do it! • Now that we have reviewed these ideas, you need to come up with your three artifacts. • Use the worksheet to brainstorm your ideas. • This worksheet is due tomorrow!
