  4. What are some things that we can say about Christian Stewardship? • Basically, covers good management of the earth, the right use of resources, conservation of energy. • Applies to us personally – how do we use and take care of those resources in our daily life. • Closely connected with the preaching and our response to the Gospel.

  5. We have a responsibility to care for God’s goods. But what are these goods?

  6. A Good Steward Is One Who Spreads the Faith • Christians are called to be faithful in • service. • Steward - the manager of a household • to whom the head of the house has • entrusted his affairs. • The Church is the household of God. • Therefore, our stewardship is faith in • action.

  7. Paul says that we are stewards of the Gospel. “We have been made stewards (or managers) of God’s secret truths and the one thing required of such a servant is that he is faithful to his master.” 1Corinthians 8:4

  8. How can 1 person change the world?

  9. Examples from the Bible • Joseph – rescued Egypt & his family from famine • Moses – led 3 million Jews out of Egypt • Esther – saved her people from destruction • David – saved his people from the Palestinians and became an anointed King

  10. Examples from the Century We Lived In • Rosa Parks – Civil Rights Movement "Mother of the Modern-Day Civil Rights Movement." • William Carey – “Father of modern missions.”

  11. How can I change the world?

  12. (A) TIME • Prioritize our time today! • Do we give time to God and people? In what way can we give such time? • How do we feel when someone visits you without any appointment when you are busy with some matters?

  13. (B) TALENT • How can we share that talent and all the other gifts we have been given?

  14. (C) GIVING • Why give, what is our motive? • What effect does our giving have? • How do we measure our giving? Gratitude Tool for mission – it could literally save lives Our willingness to give

  15. Giving (contd) 4. What is the effect of such willingness? 5. How many of us smile when volunteering, how many of us laugh when involved in the work of God? Joy. The Bible says so… God loves a cheerful giver

  16. Conclusion: Christian Stewardship • The world we live in is not getting any better – Romans 8:22 (… the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth…) • You may be insignificant in this world but you are not insignificant in God’s eye. • God has commanded us to spend our resources wisely. • Our partnership with God is the answer to solving the crisis we face in today’s world.

  17. GOD BLESS
