Some history • RSA stands for the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures, and commerce. • According to Cognitive Media, RSA coined the term “animates” • Cognitive Media was founded in 2004 by Andrew Park who is a RSA Fellow • An animate is not traditional animation “…RSA Animates have revolutionised the field of Knowledge Visualization whilst spreading the most important ideas of our time.” (thersa.org) http://www.thersa.org/events/rsaanimate
