  3. What the Death Note is. The Death Note is a notebook that was used by the death gods. And once you touch the Death Note, you’re the only one who can see the death god that it belonged to before, or Shinigami( which in Japanese is God of Death.)

  4. Background of Death Note. At the beginning Light finds the Death Note in the school yard. He looks in it thinking it is just a prank then when he wants to see if it really is just a prank he tries it on a criminal who has taken hostages and it shows his name and face on the news about him. After Light wrote the criminals name in it the criminal died of a heart attack 40 seconds later. After that happened the Shinigami that owned the book, Ryuk, appeared behind Light. After that, L, the detective Is looking for Kira(Light) and the whole story revolves around L and Kira.
