How to use the slides Next You will get more out of the slides if you can run the PowerPoint slideshows Please take the time to follow through the guidance All the slideshows work the same way If you’re using Internet Explorer then the slideshow should run straight from your browser. But you may get better results saving the file to disk and then loading it into PowerPoint

  2. Starting the show Next Back • (for PowerPoint 2010) • Take the mouse to the bottom rightof the screen • Check what the icons there do • Select the “Slide Show” icon to run the show used in the lecture • Alternatively select from the ribbon: • Slideshow • Start Slide Show

Running the show Back Next • Advance the show with • left click or • “Enter” or • “PageDown” • Check the navigation options from a right click • If you’re running from within IE select “full screen” option • If you’ve jumped into this show from a link select “Go” and “Previously viewed” • You can also use the arrow keys to navigate • Exit the show using the “Esc” key

Links Back • Many slides have dynamic links built in • But these only work if you actually run the show • The organisation chart slides link you to other parts of the same presentation. • Hot buttons in the left-hand margin: • Help you review within a slide show • Take you to other related slide shows • (XP and higher) trigger drop-down info; click again to make the drop-down vanish
