  4. My Profile – Part II On this page there is the opportunity to change your password. Counselors will also be required to answer some profile information about their school, other recommenders do not.

  5. Recommender View – Find the student and then click the Evaluation button You will have only one evaluation form to fill out per student.

  6. Recommender Evaluations This is the page where recommenders enter ratings, respond to short-answer questions and upload a recommendation. ********************** This is also the page where a recommender can see whether or not a student has waived their right to see the recommendation.

  7. Uploading a Document – Recommenders can choose to upload their letter of recommendation rather than typing it into a field on the screen. Supported document types include Microsoft Word, WordPerfect, Text, Rich Text Format (RTF), and PDF. All formatting (e.g., bolding, italics, etc.) is retained. 1) Click on the button to bring up the “File Upload” screen. 2) Click “Browse” to locate a file and then “Upload” once again. 3) New buttons will now appear next to “Upload Document.” 4) Click on “View Document” to see the uploaded document.

  8. Printing Once complete, print a copy for your records. Common App schools will be able to print out and download the submitted PDF files.

  9. Items to note • Once you have submitted your recommendation for a particular student, you do not have to worry about it again. Each time a student applies to a new school, your evaluation and letter will automatically be sent to the new institution. • What you submit for each student will be used for ALL of that student’s Common App schools—You cannot change the content of that student’s evaluation for each of his/her schools. • Since the system recognizes each recommender based upon the email address entered by the student, it is important for you to clearly communicate to your students the email address you want them to use. • When entering in a school official, the system will provide a reminder to the student to speak first with the recommender before adding him/her name in the system. The WGHS Guidance Department also emphasized this so that none of you blindly receive an email from a student requesting a recommendation from you
