  1. Laser Mark Your Wire With Miracle Aerospace With hundreds of wires within an aircraft, it becomes difficult to identify and manage them. This is why every wire on an aircraft is given its own unique identification number. This process of putting the identifier on the wire is done by laser wire marking, which is a method that helps to place a permanent mark on a wire using a laser. There are special machines that are designed to carry out this process. Earlier, these machines were large and expensive, but now desktop models are available that are easy to handle and are also reasonably priced. Titanium dioxide is found in the insulation of an aircraft wire for other purposes like marking the white insulation in color. When the laser interacts with this titanium dioxide in a wire’s insulation, the permanent mark is formed. When the laser beam hits the wire, the pigment in the insulation is discolored, thus leaving a permanent mark on it. There is a metal disc that has cutouts of letters, numbers, and symbols, which is used to form characters on the wire the disc turns as required, and the laser beam goes through the disc for a particular letter, number, or symbol to be printed. When the beam exits the disc, it is shaped as the desired character. With such state-of-the-art machines, high quality identification marking that is durable and permanent is marked on the wires. White or colored insulations can be marked as required. This kind of laser marking is a great alternative to hot stamping, direct inking, and other wire marking methods. These methods can damage the wire, causing electrical failures, or can wear off over time due to friction.
