  1. Acts 19:23-29, 35-41 • 23 About that time there arose a great disturbance about the Way. 24 A silversmith named Demetrius, who made silver shrines of Artemis, brought in no little business for the craftsmen. 25 He called them together, along with the workmen in related trades, and said:“Men, you know we receive a good income from this business.

  2. 26 And you see and hear how this fellow Paul has convinced and led astray large numbers of people here in Ephesus and in practically the whole province of Asia. He says that man-made gods are no gods at all.

  3. 27 There is danger not only that our trade will lose its good name, but also that the temple of the great goddess Artemis will be discredited, and the goddess herself, who is worshiped throughout the province of Asia and the world, will be robbed of her divine majesty.”

  4. 28 When they heard this, they were furious and began shouting: “Great is Artemis of the Ephesians!” 29 Soon the whole city was in an uproar. The people seized Gaius and Aristarchus, Paul’s traveling companions from Macedonia, and rushed as one man into the theater.

  5. 35 The city clerk quieted the crowd and said: “Men of Ephesus, doesn’t all the world know that the city of Ephesus is the guardian of the temple of the great Artemis and of her image, which fell from heaven? 36 Therefore, since these facts are undeniable, you ought to be quiet and not do anything rash.

  6. 37 You have brought these men here, though they have neither robbed temples nor blasphemed our goddess. 38 If, then, Demetrius and his fellow craftsmen have a grievance against anybody, the courts are open and there are proconsuls. They can press charges. 39 If there is anything further you want to bring up, it must be settled in a legal assembly.

  7. 40 As it is, we are in danger of being charged with rioting because of today’s events. In that case we would not be able to account for this commotion, since there is no reason for it.” 41 After he had said this, he dismissed the assembly.

  9. Acts 18 23 After spending some time in Antioch, Paul set out from there and traveled from place to place throughout the region of Galatia and Phrygia, strengthening all the disciples. 24 Meanwhile a Jew named Apollos, a native of Alexandria, came to Ephesus.

  10. Acts 19 While Apollos was at Corinth, Paul took the road through the interior and arrived at Ephesus.

  11. 22 He sent two of his helpers, Timothy and Erastus, to Macedonia, while he stayed in the province of Asia a little longer.

  12. 29 Soon the whole city was in an uproar. The people seized Gaius and Aristarchus, Paul’s traveling companions from Macedonia, and rushed as one man into the theater. 30 Paul wanted to appear before the crowd, but the disciples would not let him.

  13. I think we often imagine Paul doing ministry by himself What we see here is Paul working together with, collaborating, encouraging and being protected by others

  14. Acts 20 3 …Because the Jews made a plot against him just as he was about to sail for Syria, he decided to go back through Macedonia. 4 He was accompanied by Sopater son of Pyrrhus from Berea, Aristarchus and Secundus from Thessalonica, Gaius from Derbe, Timothy also, and Tychicus and Trophimus from the province of Asia.

  15. 9 Seated in a window was a young man named Eutychus, who was sinking into a deep sleep as Paul talked on and on. When he was sound asleep, he fell to the ground from the third story and was picked up dead. 11 Then he went upstairs again and broke bread and ate. After talking until daylight, he left. 12 The people took the young man home alive and were greatly comforted.

  19. 13 And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, 14 who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory.

  20. Ephesians 2 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.

  21. 19 Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household…

  22. The mystery? God in partnership with Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit saves us… If we believe; guarantees our salvation by grace through faith This is God’s gift to us

  23. Ephesians 3 10 His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms, 11 according to his eternal purpose which he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord.

  24. 12 In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.

  25. 17 …And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

  26. The church is to share the love of Christ so others will know God loves them That people will know God is approachable And that God is generous with his love

  27. Ephesians 4 3 Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. 4 There is one body and one Spirit— just as you were called to one hope when you were called— 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

  28. The church; the people are to be united under its leader… Jesus

  29. Ephesians 5 Be imitators of God… 21 Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.

  30. 22 Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. 24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.

  31. 25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her 26 to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, 27 and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.

  32. 28 In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29 After all, no one ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cares for it, just as Christ does the church— 30 for we are members of his body.

  33. Ephesians 6 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 “Honor your father and mother”… 4 Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.

  34. 5 Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ. 9 And masters, treat your slaves in the same way. Do not threaten them, since you know that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no favoritism with him.

  35. The church people are to be in unity not just in public but in the privacy of their homes There is to be unity Cooperation Peace Understanding

  36. Putting it all together God unites us by making grace available to us all We are all equally unable to be perfect or earn God’s grace God, and only god, can guarantee our salvation through his Holy Spirit because only he is perfect

  37. Putting it all together When the church works in unity we can better share God’s love This is something we really have to work at constantly We have to strive to see better because it is easier to see flaws than improvements

  38. Putting it all together Unity also needs to happen in our homes We are not called to be power hungry but cooperating in unity… With our spouses, children and those we work with; whether over and under us

  39. God loves you And just the way God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit cooperate bring us grace… We are called to live in unity and peace with in our church, home and work

  40. We are the Federated Church. Our Mission is to… Seek Christ, Serve Christ andShare Christ.
