  6. Sample Summaries for Primary Sites Collected FY2005 and FY2006

  7. Primary Site Changes in 2006 • New gage installation completed on James River at Blue Ridge Parkway site. • Data on line on USGS NWIS site 02024752 • James River site 2-JMS117.35 relocated to 2-JMS113.20 for safety reasons. • Gage will stay the same

  8. Secondary Sites • 18 Sites in CY 2006 • all CBP methods • Final two sites implemented May 2006 • 2 sites dropped for safety concerns • Goose Creek • Cedar Run • 2 sites relocated/no change in gage • Station 3-RPP147.10 moved to 3-RPP147.49 • Station 8-MPN094.79 moved to 8-MPN094.94

  10. Sample # for Secondary Sites 2005

  11. Sample # for Secondary Sites 2006

  12. 2006 CBP Method Implementation • Northern Regional Office dropped 2 stations in June and implemented 2 in February • Goose Creek and Cedar Creek dropped • Rappahannock and Mattaponi implemented • 3 sites implemented by Piedmont regional office in May (one primary and two secondary) • Delay caused by need for specialty equipment

  13. 2007 Challenges • VDOT Bridge work in progress at Appomattox at Farmville secondary site • May disrupt flow record. • Funding • Current VADEQ and VA-USGS funding fairly safe. • Possible implimentation problems at new sites

  14. 2007 Program Expansion • Probable new work • Two new primary sites • North Anna R. to isolate causes of Pamunkey increasing trends in Pamunkey Basin. • Coastal plain station on Chickahominy R.. • Support for continuous monitoring at James, Rappahannock and Pamunkey RIM sites. • Enhanced accuracy of RIM loading estimates and “real/near” time load estimation. • Ideas for additional new work if have funding • New sites in coastal Plain (Piankatank R) • New Sites in Urban N. VA watersheds • Convert secondary to primary
