  2. The size of the dunes are 35 miles!!!! • Sleeping Bear Dunes is in Michigan.

  3. The Sleeping Bear Dunes is one of the most beautiful natural areas in Michigan's lower peninsula. • Some of the natural features are sand and dune grass.

  4. During breeding season adults have a black forehead band between the eyes and a single black band around its neck. Piping Plover • They winter together on the gulf coast by traveling to the separate areas during the breeding season. • They have a sand colored back and white below.

  5. Trumpeter swan • They have long necks to get food. • Have snowy white feathers and jet black legs. • Has an 8 foot wing span.

  6. Tree Frog • they have lumpy texture to give a watery appearance. • Can camouflage itself. • Have long back legs.

  7. They raise 2-4 chicks. Wood Thrush • cinnamon colored. • The wingspan is 30-40 cm. long.

  8. Pink Lady Slipper Pitchers thistle Only grows in a very selective environment. Large flower trillium Has velvety leaves to reduce desiccation. White, grows pink with age.

  9. Sleeping bear dunes is as old as continental ice sheets • It’s dunes are perched dunes.
