  2. Copper is a solid, it is also a metal. It is a good conductor because copper has a lot of free electrons that can carry the flowing current efficiently.

  3. Coppers family name is coinage metal because they use it to make coins. They use it for pennies because copper is a lot cheaper than silver.

  4. Copper was found in the ancient times. It was found by an ancient vanished race around 5,000 and 1,200 b.c. They found it uncombined and they used it for jewelry and spear tips. They use copper in wires because it’s a good conductor for electricity to pass through.

  5. Copper is a reddish metal with a face-centered cubic crystalline structure. It is malleable, ductile, and an extremely good conductor for both heat and electricity. It has low chemical reactivity. When in a moist environment it forms a greenish surface called patina, the coating protects it from further attack.

  6. Archaeologists found a plumbing system in the Pyramid of Cheops in Egypt the copper that was found was still able to be used. They add copper to gold to make it to were gold cannot be molded because without copper in gold it would be able to be molded.

  7. Tools made from copper or copper alloys will not cause a spark, and thus are used wherever there may be a danger of explosion.
