  2. OBJECTIVES • To learn terminology related to human behavior – normal and abnormal

  3. PERCEPTION • Awareness, how individual looks at information and sees it.

  4. CRITICAL THINKING • The constant practice of considering all aspects of a situation when deciding what to believe or what to do.

  5. EMPATHY • Sensitivity to the individual needs and reactions of a patient

  6. REFLECTION • The process of considering new information and accepting it to create new ways of examining information

  7. AGGRESSION • A forceful action or procedure intended to dominate; hostile

  8. COMFORT ZONE • A place in the mind where an individual feels safe and comfortable

  9. CONGRUENT • Being in agreement, harmony or correspondence

  10. FEEDBACK • The transmission of evaluative or corrective information to the original source

  11. PARAPHRASING • To express an idea in different wording in effort to clarify the meaning.

  12. SARCASM • A sharp and often satirical response or ironic utterance designed to cut or give pain

  13. ARTICULATION • To speak clearly

  14. PRIORITIZE • To arrange in order of importance

  15. STEREOTYPE • Something comforting to a fixed or general pattern; a standardized mental picture; prejudice attitude or judgment
