  3. University Space Policy • All space is university space and is subject to reassignment based on university needs • University space encompasses both academic & administrative space assignments • Creation of the Space Assessment Committee (SAC)

  7. University Space Review • A comprehensive review of university space was conducted over the summer and was guided by several principles

Guiding Principles • To relocate eight units affected by Kendall & Highland Hall demolitions • To more fully & effectively utilize university space • To keep undergraduate academic core programs centrally located on the main campus • To move units currently dispersed on campus to contiguous space

  9. Guiding Principles (cont.) • To align space assignments to better meet the needs of the university’s strategic plan • To more fully utilize the space at the Research Park • To co-locate academic units to achieve intellectual synergies • To move non-core activities to the periphery of campus

  10. Major space adjustments included the following: • Relocation of two units (SLIS & COE Learning Technologies) to Research Park • collaborative and synergistic opportunities with CSCI and one another • Relocation of all units housed in Kendall and Highland Halls • demolition of both buildings scheduled for September 2008 • footprint for new Business Leadership Complex

  12. Unit Relocations • Relocation of 10 units on campus: • COE Institute for Behavioral & Learning Differences to MATT • University Ombudsman to CHIL • Campus Operators to Research Park (CITC) • Outreach Center to ESSC (Enrollment Mgmt.) • UNT Press
