NCLB Goals • Mandated Annual testing for all students by 2005-2006 • All teachers must have highly qualified certifications • All students at meet and exceeds standards by 2013-2014 • Passing for AYP as defined in Illinois
ISAT Changes • 2006 the test reformat • 2013 new cut scores for grades 3-8 • Colored tests • Student-friendly • Motivating • Vertical scaling • All students compared on a single scale • Each grade must score a higher minimum to be passing
ISAT and PSAE • ISAT used in grades 3, 5 and 8 from 1999 to 2005 • ISAT for all grades 3-8 starting in 2006 • PSAE enforced for 11th graders in 2001 • We now have 13 years of data for each assessment and for grades 3, 5, 8 and 11 in mathematics • 8 years of data from reformat in 2006 for grades 4, 6,and 7.
Until 2004 SAT consisted of Critical Reasoning and Mathematics • 2005 added a required Writing part
