  2. Welcome to EBSCO’s Legal Information Reference Center tutorial. Legal Information Reference Center contains hundreds of full-text publications and thousands of legal forms that can help you to independently address a wide-range of legal issues including financial planning, family law, property & real estate, rights & disputes, and estate planning. In this tutorial, we will look at conducting a search from the Basic Search screen, as well as the browsing options available in Legal Information Reference Center.

  3. Let’s begin by conducting a Basic Search in Legal Information Reference Center. Enter your terms in the Find field and click Search.

  4. By default, your search results will appear in order of relevance, but you can also sort articles by source, author, or date. You can also refine your results using the limiters in the left-hand column. Click on a Full Text link to view the full text article, or click the title to view details about the article. Don’t have time to read it now? Sign In to your personal account and click the Add to Folder link to save the article to your personal folder. If at any time you wish to return to the home page, click the product logo.

  5. PDF full text displays in the PDF Full Text Viewer. From this screen, you can Print, E-mail, Export or Add the result to your Folder by clicking the corresponding icons under the Tools menu on the right. Navigate to other chapters in the source by clicking the links under the Full Text Contents column on the left. You can print or save the article to your computer by using the icons found in the Adobe Reader toolbar. To see citation and summary information for the article, click Detailed Record.

  6. From the Basic Search screen, you can Browse by Category, Browse Legal Forms by popularity or by U.S. state, or Browse Popular Sources. Let’s begin by browsing the Wills & Estate Planning category.

  7. Next, select from the displayed list of topics.

  8. Then click on one of the available sources.

  9. A result list of chapters from your selected source is displayed. Click on a full text link to view a chapter in the PDF Full Text viewer.

  10. Click the Legal Information Reference Center logo to return to the Basic Search screen. From here, you have the ability to browse law information in books from Nolo, a publisher of legal information for consumers. Use the left and right arrows to browse through the available Popular Sources. Click on a title to view a source in the PDF Full Text Viewer.

  11. Legal Information Reference Center also includes thousands of legal forms. From the Basic Search screen, simply click on a subject in the Browse Popular Legal Forms area for a list of relevant forms, or click the Search by State button to search legal forms by U.S. state.
