  1. Goal-ball Skills Assessment

  2. Purpose • The purpose of this test was to assess an individual’s performance of a proper penalty throw found in goal ball. Proper throwing techniques are essential to a successful game of goal ball.

  3. Instructions and option • Instructions: Students will be allowed practice time before the assessment begins. Once a student name is called, they must report to the assessing court to begin test. Students are allowed two attempts to throw the ball towards the goal. Each throw will be assessed on the criteria found under the task requirement section. A made goal will help you earn full points but remember you may have a blind folded defender trying to prevent you from making the goal. Once students complete test they are free to have play time or they have the option to leave. • Option: Students will have the option to remove the defender either before or during the assessment period

  4. Equipment • 1 goal ball • 2 field goals • 3 blind folds (bandana) per team • 2 rolls of duck tape • 5-10 strings of ropes

Changes made in the original documents • Process • Had three columns • Meet all (5 pts), meet some (3 pts), and attempts but does not meet requirement (1 pt) • Changed point value • Meet all (5pts), does not meet task requirement (0 pts) • Product • Removed a second column (1st & 2nd attempt) because I did not need it.

  8. Scoring • Process • 50 possible points • Product • 10 possible points • Total of 60 points (I will add 40 points to this score to get a true percentage) • 50-60 = A (90-100) • 40-49= B (80-89) • 30-39= C (70-79) • 29 or below = Retake Assessment

  13. Test Problems • Most common process skilled missed was the low body position and follow through ( maybe due to the fear) • Problem with original score sheet found during the first testing subject, but corrected it accordingly
