3. First law • An object AT REST stays at rest and an object in MOTION stays in motion unless acted on by an outside force..

4. Vocabulary • Inertia- A property of matter by which it remains at rest or In uniform motion in the same straight line unless acted upon by some external force. • Motion-The act, process, or state of changing place or position; movement; the passing of a body from one place or position to another, weather voluntary or involuntary.

5. Real life examples • When you kick a football. • When you dive into a swimming pool. • When your seat belt saves you during an accident.

6. Newton’s 2nd Law of Motion

7. States that an object moves in the direction that you push or pull it Also says that the more mass an object has, the harder it is to move it. Also says that if you want something to move faster, you have to apply more force. Basically

8. EXAMPLES • If you want to push a wagon and it is empty, it takes less force. If it is full, it takes more force. • If you pull the wagon, it will move in the direction you are pulling it.
