  1. Codes and Conventions of a Print advert • The main codes and conventions we see on a print advert are: • Images & Colour • Text • Logo • Graphics

  2. Main Image & Colour Scheme The main Image usually covers the whole page or a small section and the rest is a background. The image signifies what the show will be about and may suggest any themes involved, this offers the audience an insight to what it may include therefore attracting the reader towards the show. The colour scheme will be basic colours but will attract the audience, as they will have meaning for example the image has used white for graphics and black text, the image is dull as well due to the lighting which implies a deep and sad meaning

  3. Text The text will be of a heading, slogan as well as information about the programme such as the date and time. The text will be kept at a bare minimum in order to stop the text from distracting the audience from the main image, also a lot of text on a poster would mean that the audience would have to spend a lot of time reading it and not only will some people not have time to do this, but some people will find this very off putting and ignore the advertisement completely. the colour of the text or the text box always matches the colour of logo, this is because the colour stands out from the background image. They also use a distinctive text that will be associated with the channel

  4. Logo The logo of the channel will feature on the print advert, this is to tell the audience when the programme will be on. The logo is never too big so that it dominates the whole of the poster and it is never too small so that the viewer of the print advertisement doesn't notice it

  5. Graphics Graphics will appear over the text such as the white boxes over the heading, this attracts the audience attention towards the information. The logo is also same colour scheme and bold and is graphics on the image, also engaging the audience to notice what channel it will be on
