  2. WHAT’S REPRESENTATION? REPRESENTATION IS A TECHNO-POLITICAL ACTIVITY WHOSE PRATICAL AIM IS TO INVOLVE STUDENTS IN THE COLLEGE ORGANISATION. Itconcernesmanydifferenttopics: • Didactic • Economical • Political • Otheractivities • Socio-cultural • Sportive

  3. ABOUT REPRESENTATION … • Itischosenbetweendifferentcandidatesbelongingtodifferentlistsvotedby the wholestudent community; • Itexpresses the students’ willin the meeting of the StudentsCouncil.

REPRESENTATION AND STUDENTS COMMUNITY WILL (1) The aimsof the Representation are: - tosatisfy the needsof the wholestudents community, not just thatof the majority. - tobring the students position to the attentionof the organsofuniversity. The best solutionfor the community isnotalwayslinkedto the majorityinterest…

REPRESENTATION AND STUDENTS COMMUNITY WILL (2) • representationismadebyconfrontationwith the representativesofothercategories (professors, assistantprofessors, lecturers, clerical staff, …) • representatives actas intermediary between students and university staff and must reconcile the opposing requirements of the different categories; • itmaybeanoccasiontomakepractice on organisationactivity(oftenit’s the startingoccasion);

THE STUDENTS COUNCIL (1) • The members: • 3 representativesofeachFaculty; • 1 representativeof the AdministrationCouncil; • 1 representativeof the ERDISU AdministrationCouncil; • 1 representativeof the UnivesityStudentsAssociations. The StudentsCouncilvotesitsPresident and 4 representatives in the Senato Accademico amongitsmembers. Moreoveritvotes a representatives in the CO.RE.CO.

  8. THE STUDENTS COUNCIL (2) The StudentsCouncilgivesopinions and recomandations on the topicsto the AdministrationCouncil and the Senato Accademico. Opinionsmustbeaskedfrom the previewsorgans, butafterthattheymaybefailedtoapply. The StudentsCouncilmay cooperate with CUS (UniversitySporting Center) toorganizeathleticsactivities and competitions.

REPRESENTATION IN ECONOMICAL ISSUES • All the economicaldecisions are madeby the AdministrationCouncil; • studentsrepresentatives vote everydecision in everyissues; • the administrationcouncilismade up threerepresentativesofeverycategory; • representatives are electedby the whole community; • members continue in office fortwoyears;

REPRESENTATION IN THE ACCADEMICAL ISSUES • students partecipate to the didatticdecisionthroughtheirmembers in the Senato Accademico; • in Senato Accademico there are 4 representativesfrom the StudentsCouncil plus the Presidentof the StudentsCouncil; • In Senato Accademico representatives are electedindirectlyby the studentsrepresentatives in the StudentsCouncil; • Studentsrepresentatives can vote the mostof the issues, butthere are some topicsreservedto the professors staff

CO.RE.CO. • CO.RE.COisparticularpoliticorgan; • ismade up: • the Presidente of the RegionCouncil; • the Chancelorsof the 3 Universityofourregion (Udine, Trieste and Sissa); • 1 studentsrepresentativeforeachUniversity; The CO.RE.CO. developes the wholeorganisationofdidactic and economicaspectsof the cultural life ofourUniversities. Itdecides the distributionofeconomicresources, the establishment ofnewaccademicalcourses, etc.

STUDENTS ASSOCIATIONS • Studentsmayestablish cultural Associations in ordertoorganizedifferentactivitiesusingmoneygivenby the University; • in ordertogetmoneyfrom the University the StudentsAssociationsmustpresent a project withaneconomicplanforitsrealization; • StudentsAssociationsmay involve studentsfromone or more Faculities. Consequentallytheiractivitiesmay concerne differentmatters.

THE MONEY DISTRIBUTION TO STUDENTS ASSOCIATIONS (1) • The moneydistributionto the StudentsAssociationsismadeby the Comitato degli Studenti, whichismade up: • the Presidentof the StudentsCouncil • the 3 studentsrepresentatives in the AdministrationCouncil • 1 representativeof the ERDISU AdministrationCouncil • the Cortrepresentative • 2professorsrepresentative

THE MONEY DISTRIBUTION TO STUDENTS ASSOCIATIONS (1) • The Comitato degli Studenti meets once a year; • itanalizes the moneyrequestsmadeby the StudentsAssociations and makesdecisionaboutthem; • StudentsAssociationsmustuse the moneybefore the end of the yearofcompetence; • ifnot, theymustbegiven back to the University; • everyyearStudentsAssociationsmustpresent a receipts and payments account concerningall the activitiesmadeduring the year.
